Master of Public Administration-Criminal Justice Concentration: The two-year course of study for the Master of Public Administration-Criminal Justice Concentration includes 48 required credit hours divided among four components. The four components are the core curriculum consisting of 18 credit hours, six units of electives, six units of practicum courses and 12 credit hours of criminal justice courses. These include Theories of Crime and Public Policy, Deviance and Social Control, Crime and Public Policy, White Collar and Organizational Crime, Colloquium in Criminal Justice, Criminal Procedure, Jurisprudence, Violent Crime and Political Order, International Law, Constitutional Law, Administrative Law and Women and the Law. After the classroom requirements are met, students must then complete a 6-credit-hour internship. The Criminal Justice concentration prepares students for managerial, planning and development careers in the court system, corrections and law enforcement.
