The remaining 71 credits will be met with criminal justice courses including corrections, reporting techniques, criminal law, police and society, interview and interrogation, organization and management, criminology, rules of evidence and community relations. The A.A.S. in Criminal Justice can be completed in two years, or six quarters, of full-time study. The criminal justice generalist specialization or corrections specialization will have slightly different course lists within this degree. Associate in Applied Science in Criminal Justice: Nebraska Law Enforcement: The Nebraska Law Enforcement program meets entry-level requirements for Nebraska State Patrol, local or county sheriff officers. Individuals must have a clean record and meet physical and mental health standards. A total of 89 credits are required to earn this A.A.S. degree, 35 of which are in general education topics such as communications, math, social sciences and physical education. Courts and the judicial process, reporting techniques, criminal law, police and society, criminal investigation and rules of evidence are all addressed in the curriculum. A practicum at the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center is also necessary and may have additional costs and entry requirements. Nine credits of other required electives are the final component of this track.

MCC is supported by Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy and Washington counties in Nebraska. More than 30,000 students are enrolled for some type of credit course annually, but just over 1,000 are awarded associate degrees each year and the average class size is just 16 students. Resident students pay tuition at a rate of $41 per credit hour and non-residents are charged $62 per credit hour. Student housing is available for approximately $400 per month.
